On Friday 22nd November, the Genius Roof Solution’s team attended the Pitched Roofing Awards at the iconic Midland Hotel in the heart of Manchester.
After a few pick-ups, our taxi headed to the venue for the 11.30am start time. On the way, there was excitement in the air as we were shortlisted in not one, but two categories.
Once we arrived at the hotel we stepped into its timeless elegance and were instantly mesmerised by the beautiful and extensive Christmas display in their foyer. Not to mention the Rolls Royce in the entrance; a testament to the meeting in 1904 of Charles Rolls and Henry Royce…..
We were greeted with the choice of a glass of fizz or a bottle of beer and then shown to our dinner table which was at the front of the room. We enjoyed a tasty 3 course meal served with drinks of our choice.
Next came the entertainment; which was the brilliant Hal Cruttenden, who succeeded in achieving lots of laughter from our table before the awards ceremony.
Out of 11 categories, we were shortlisted for the 9th category; ‘Most Innovative Product’ and the 10th category; ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Industry’. We crossed our fingers and hoped we would take at least one award home. To say it was worth the wait is an understatement.
And the winner is…….Genius Roof Solutions!
We won the award for ‘Most Innovative Product’ with our game-changing, recently launched SpeedFlash®.
(Our SpeedFlash kit allows installers to fit solar pv to a slate roof without the need to remove slates, thus making the installation much faster and easier)
The inventor and founder of Genius Roof Solutions, Jimmy Hall was awarded ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Roofing Industry’.
(Jimmy has spent the last 20 years using his extensive roofing knowledge to test and develop our products. He has spent his time passing on his knowledge to family members within the company ensuring we offer the best technical advice with our products)
What a day! There wasn’t a dry eye on our table and we were all absolutely thrilled.
To be nominated alongside such high calibre shortlisted entrants was a privilege and to win was an honour. Both awards reflect the commitment, talent and hard work of the entire Genius Roof Solutions team. Without the continued support of our loyal colleagues and customers our growth and success would not have been possible.
